YOUNG musicians and singers are invited to find out more about a popular music group in the town.
Every Saturday morning during school term time children, young people and adults from Whitby and the surrounding area join together from 9.30am to 11.30am as part of Whitby Music Centre.
The four separate groups meet as part of Whitby Music Centre which is flourishing under the leadership of well-known local music teacher Bob Butterfield.
The groups are a choir, junior string group, Whitby Area Concert Band and the Esk Valley Concert Band and each group is led by its own teacher.
The last rehearsal of this term takes place on Saturday 23 March at Eskdale School and will take the form of an open morning.
David Rowland from Whitby Music Centre said: “Any young musicians and their parents are invited to visit the different ensembles during the morning, either to join in or just to see what happens.
“The morning will start at 9.30 and continue until break at 10.30, with a chance to make friends around the tuck shop.”
The open morning will be followed by a short concert from all ensembles and will feature some of the items performed at the local Eskdale Festival.
