THE APOLLO Players are on the hunt for cast and chorus to bring their Dick Whittington pantomime to life.
Now that the summer holidays are drawing to a close, the Apollo Players attention is focused upon their forthcoming January pantomime.
Tonight there is a taster evening where people can come along and get a feel for how they work without the pressure to join.
Musical director, Chris Wales, said: “The idea of the night is for people to come and have a go.
“If you’ve always thought you might like to be in a pantomime but you were not sure if it would be for you, then this is the night to join us.”
Directed by Dave Masters, musical direction by Chris Wales and choreography by Francoise Russell the show is set to run from Monday 16 to Saturday 21 January 2012.
Chris and Francoise will put people through their paces with some songs and a simple dance routine to earn.
The night will be held this evening in the ballroom at The Met at 7pm.
The following Friday 9 September is the official welcome evening which will be held in the Met ballroom at 7pm.
At the welcome evening, the production team will be on hand to discuss the show and tell people what it’s about and what songs will be used and the characters which need casting.
Readings and auditions and casting of the principal roles will take place on Wednesday 14 and Tuesday 20 September at 7.30pm at the Scout Hall, Spring Hill.
On Wednesday 21 September music and chorus auditions will be held again at 7.30pm at Scout hall.
The Apollo players welcome new members, but they must be at least 14 years old on 1 September 2011.
