Members of the Whitby Area Musical Theatre Company are busy learning lines, songs and dance steps for its next show at the Pavilion.
The troupe presents Return to the Forbidden Planet at the venue next year.
The show features a feast of 1950s and 1960s rock and roll classics including Wipe out, It’s a Man’s World, Great Balls of Fire, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, Good Vibrations, Teenager in Love, Young Girl, Who’s Sorry Now, Pretty Woman, Gloria, Shake, Rattle and Roll, Only the Lonely, Born to be Wild, Mr Spaceman, Johnny B. Good and Monster Mash.
The company is welcoming new members Jonathan Jeeves and Dave Blaker aboard the Starship Albatross in the roles of Captain Tempest and Prospero respectively.
As with many other amateur groups around the country, new members are needed, especially men and women between the ages of 18 and 50. the Company is also looking for people to work backstage looking after the props and painting scenery.
