A SIX piece band which specialises in music from the 30s, 40s and 50s will be performing in Danby to help raise funds for a local theatre group.
‘Jump, Jive ‘n’ Wail’ will be coming all the way from West Yorkshire for the performance on Saturday 11 June, 8pm, at Danby Village Hall.
There will be trademark songs such as Knock Me A Kiss, Nosey Joe, Choo Choo ch’ Boogie and of course Jump Jive and Wail.
In addition there will be a short easy Jive lesson to start the evening for those who want it.
Tickets cost £10 (including ration bag supper) and are available from Danby and Glaisdale Village Shops, or by calling the Esk Valley Theatre Box Office on 01947 897587.
Sheila Carter, director of EVT said: “The Esk Valley Theatre is thrilled that this talented six-piece band is coming over to Danby to help raise funds for the theatre, and EVT are keen to show them that we can jump and jive just as well here in North Yorkshire.”
This August the company is presenting ‘Dangerous Obsession’ by N.J. Crisp, and ‘Aladdin’ in association with the Pocket Panto Company. Tickets now on sale at Glaisdale Village Shop or call the Box Office number above.
