Long established E Botham and Sons, dating from 1865, has been chosen by deliciouslyorkshire as one of seven Yorkshire firms to feature in the event later this month.

Gulfoods 2011 is billed as the world’s biggest food, drink and hospitality event and is viewed as a gateway to the East.

It is certainly on a grand scale with 3,800 exhibitors who are expected to attract 55,000 buyers and delegates from 152 countries.

Chief executive Jonathan Knight of deliciouslyorkshire which is organising the county’s contribution, said: “We’re looking forward to bringing a selection of deliciouslyorkshire to Gulfood 2011.

“We hope our presence will build new routes to markets and connections for businesses across Yorkshire as well as showcasing some of the best produce from our region.”

Botham’s managing director Michael Jarman said: “We’re delighted that the regional food group is backing this initiative. It not only promotes us but Whitby as well.”

Mr Jarman said that Botham’s supplies its products in countries throughout the world including the United States and Japan where their favourites are ginger biscuits and fruit cake.
