Jump and jive in time to a live band and help raise money for the Esk Valley Theatre at a dance later this month.
The event on Saturday 20 April is being held in Danby Village Hall and will feature music from Jump Jive ‘n’ Wail who will be playing music from the 1930s, 40s and 50s.
From lounge lizard swing to foot tapping, jive-dancing rhythms, there will be the chance to dance a variety of Ballroom styles throughout the night.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and for those who want it, there will be an Easy Jive Lesson at 8pm with some Lindy Hop and Jitterbug steps thrown in.
There will be a licensed bar and the Friends of EVT will be providing their famous ration bag supper.
EVT producer Sheila Carter said: “‘Jump, Jive ‘n’ Wail’ are great supporters of Esk Valley Theatre.
“They based in Halifax and they are once again making the trip over the Pennines to raise funds for the theatre.
“They have a much deserved reputation for giving people a great night out and we are delighted that they are making time in their busy schedule to help us.”
Sheila said the professional theatre based in Glaisdale is working hard to put funds in place for this year and artists within the industry are pulling out the stops too including Sir Alan Ayckbourn.
Tickets for the dance cost £12 (including ration bag supper) and are available from Danby Shop, or by calling the EVT Box Office on (01947) 897587.
