PRIMARY school children in Glaisdale have been cooking up a treat for the village.
Before they broke up for the Easter holidays the key stage two pupils opened their own cafe selling sandwiches, scones, biscuits and juice they had made themselves to parents, local residents and friends of the school.
The opening of their own cafe was a culmination of a project about food.
They looked at which foods are good for you, what is unhealthy and where foods come from.
They also practised their maths skills by working out what ingredients were needed for recipes and handling the money paid for the treats and snacks.
