Whitby’s Dalewood House are holding a nursery open day, showcasing their home grown plants and handmade garden furniture.
Service users at the day centre will be displaying their benches, tables and other garden furniture they’ve made from recycled pallets and trenchers, donated from local businesses.
Garden plants that have been reared from seeds or cuttings at the centre will be on sale at competitive prices.
Perennials and annuals will be on offer for buy two get one free.
The respite day centre provides services for adults with disablities.
Support Worker Jo Chadwick said: “We’ve been doing the open day for three years and have been progressing it each year. It gives an opportunity for the service users to get some work experience and to make the public more aware of where we are.”
There will be refreshments and a cake stall, with all proceeds to go to the Dalewood Trust.
The open day takes place this Saturday and will be running from 10am to 3pm.
