THE Dalesman Singers staged a successful collaboration with a ladies choir at one of their recent performances.

Under the watchful guidance of a conductor from Castleton and accompanist from Danby the Dalesmen and the Singing for Pleasure Ladies Choir performed at St Leonard’s Church in Loftus last month.

There was a wide repertoire of songs on the night with something to please everyone.

Edith Smith from nearby Brotton said. “It was a wonderful night. I attended with my younger sister and we had a marvellous time. I particularly loved `Amen.`”

Barbara Anderson, conductor, kept the mass of more than sixty singers in order, backed throughout by accompanist Ann Hartley.

It kicks off a busy season for the Dalesman who have three more concerts lined up for December.

They will be at Castleton Village Hall on Sunday 11 December, 7.30pm; Skelton Church, Tuesday 13 December, 7pm; St Hilda’s West Cliff, Friday 16 December at 7.30pm.
