Organisers of the Summer Sound have been given the go ahead for a second event at Gisborough Priory later this year.
Last year’s event attracted nearly 4,000 people over the two days.
The historic site was transformed into a spectacular arena with the ancient Priory used as a backdrop for the main stage. Classic hits from some of the biggest tribute bands entertained the crowds along with DJs from Smooth Radio.
“This year we intend to build on the quality of the event and bring more great acts to the area,” said Jason Bushby, operations director at JAZ Leisure.
“The two nights both have a different vibe with the Friday night being a retro party with music from the 60s and 70s. Hosted by Berni Inns of Love Train fame so expect loads of fancy dress fun to kick off the weekend.
“The Saturday night is dedicated to rock and pop legends so expect some big names and big tunes. Previous years have seen tributes from Queen, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Madness, The Rolling Stones and many more.”
This is the third year the music festival has been held in the North East and its popularity is growing.
“Last year’s event was incredible, the crowds were fantastic and the location is perfect,” said Jason.
“Summer Sound events appeal to all ages and musical tastes” added Lee. “Everybody leaves with a smile on their face”
This years event will be held on Friday July 31 and Saturday August 1 and the line up will be announced in the next few weeks.
Tickets go on sale at the end of April.
