Beverley-based Cherie Lawrence will get Whitby Rifle Club “in the mood” on Saturday night with a concert featuring 1940’s classics.
Cherie, who has been performing at 1940’s events across the UK for a number of years, says on her facebook page: “Singing has been my passion since I was a child but I’ve been professionally singing in venues all over the East Coast for just over five years now.
“I’m flexible in genre from modern to old but specialise in singing jazz, country and easy listening tracks and I absolutely love singing songs from the 1940’s and earlier.”
This year is the first time wartime trains will be coming into Whitby, with thousands of extra visitors anticipated.
The entertainment being provided in the town is thanks to the support of Welcome to Yorkshire.
Admission to the gig, being staged as part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s Railway in Wartime Weekend, is just £1.
