TALENTED teenagers from Whitby and district are being invited to showcase their talents at a spin-off of a popular regional arts festival.
Aftershock Scarborough, which is a mini version of the CultureShock Youth Arts Festival, is being held at The Overflow Car Park, Burniston Road, tomorrow.
The event offers a unique experience for hundreds of youngsters to try their hand at a variety of arts workshops and performances, which aim to inspire and challenge youngsters and to showcase their creativity.
Teenagers will be able to learn new skills at a range of workshops, which include graffiti art, DJing, manga and even circus skills.
The organisers will also host a performance stage, which offers youngsters the chance to showcase their talents to a live audience.
Popular dance duo The Squatters, who have played alongside superstars such as Tiesto and 2ManyDJs, will headline the stage.
The CultureShock Festival is now in its 10th year, and the Aftershock spin-off has been created for areas of the county that aren’t normally visited by its parent festival.
Besides the workshops and live music, there will also be a range of outdoor activities on offer to keep people entertained, including Laser Quest and Water Walkers.
Entry to the event, which runs between 3pm and 9pm, is free.
Oganisers are expecting hundreds of teenagers to attend what it is hoped could become an annual event.
CultureShock Festival which is attended by thousands of youngsters, will take place this year at the Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate on 15 to 18 June .
