Over 27 private gardens will be open to the public as part of the Robin Hood’s Bay open gardens weekend.

There are some new gardens this year and some making a return to the schedule for the seventh annual event which is on Sunday between 11am-5pm.

It has proved an interesting run up this year for gardeners who have had to contend with a prolonged cold snap.

John Tucker whose garden at Thorpe Lane will be opened up said: “This year everything is new because of the weather, some things that are usually finished in my garden are only just coming into bloom. We put all our work in before open gardens so we can relax and enjoy it over summer.”
