A PAIR of FOWLS have been thanked by Whitby RNLI for their enormous fund-raising efforts.
Trevor and Jane Roberts were members of Friends of Whitby Lifeboat Station (FOWLS) but have been forced to resign from the group due to their relocating to Pickering.
On Thursday 3 May they were presented with a signed, framed photograph of Whitby’s all-weather lifeboat “George and Mary Webb”, and a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the FOWLS and the RNLI Whitby Crew.
Whitby volunteer lifeboat press officer David Smith said: “Since they moved to Whitby, they had helped enormously in raising money for the lifeboat station and the RNLI.
“They were also volunteers at the lifeboat museum and shop in Whitby and were instrumental in setting up a table top sale which brought in an extra £50 per week for the charity.”
