FROM lawnmower racing to coconut shys to the wet sponge stocks - the annual welly wanging at Runswick Bay has it all.
It is the fourth time the Runswick Bay Wellie Wanging and family fun day has been held.
It is on Sunday 1 May in the field opposite the Runswick Bay Hotel and this year’s charity is The Runswick Bay Rescue Boat. There are also vintage tractors, a burger bar, ice cream, splat the rat, and of course ... welly wanging. In the evening there will be an auction in the Runswick Bay Hotel and organiser Robbie Stewart, the landlord of the Runswick Bay Hotel, is appealing for items to auction off.
They can be anything from an unwanted gift to something someone makes and every penny raised goes to the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat. Items can be left at the pub or can be collected by contacting 841010. Mr Stewart added: “Each year we are adding more and more attractions. The whole village pulls together to make it a great day. “The old fashioned games go down really well and the evening auction is great fun with some great lots to bid on from meals and dance lessons to a chance to ride out with the crew on The Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.”
