FRIENDS of Whitby Lifeboat are hosting the third Trash or Treasure Valuation Day at Whitby Yacht Club on Sunday 15 July.

The event takes place between 1.30pm and 4.30pm and will see three expert valuers on hand to value hidden treasures such as ceramics and porcelain, jewellery and silver, watches and clocks and other artefacts.

Pete Thomson, curator of the Lifeboat Museum, will also be providing challenging visitors to identify some curiosities from the lifeboat’s past.

Organiser Sandra Smith said: “There may be a fascinating curiosity hidden in someone’s attic, it would be fun for the valuers to have a real challenge such as on the Antiques Roadshow.

“We are looking forward to a big turnout to raise funds for our Whitby lifeboat.”

The event begins at 1.30pm at Whitby Yacht Club and up to three items can be valued for £5.

There will also be some stalls selling vintage items and jewellery and ea or coffee with homemade cakes and scones will be served for £2.50.
