THEY say Christmas comes earlier every year but one Whitby school is holding their seasonal fair this month.
Caedmon School is hosting a Christmas Fair with an Easter twist tomorrow (Saturday 2 April) from 11am to 3pm in the main hall.
After weather cancelled the school’s Christmas Fair last year, the Home and School Association decided to bring Christmas 2010 to Spring 2011.
With Easter-eggs and mince-pies galore, the school’s Christmas Easter Fair gives the school another chance to celebrate in style.
Organiser Dianne Wood said: “The event was cancelled at Christmas due to the weather, but we’re hoping this fair will present another opportunity for a social gathering and to raise the school’s profile.
“The children laughed at me, saying ‘Is it really going to work?’. I’m hoping to prove them wrong.”
The event promises something for all ages with competitions including guess the weight of the Simnil cake, book stalls, local trade stalls and even a Christmas tree - decorated of course, with egg-tastic decorations.
Entry to the fair is free but funds raised will go towards new books and equipment for the school, as well as a chosen charity.
