RNLI museum needs willing volunteers for shop

Whitby’s RNLI souvenir shop, beside the lifeboat museum on Pier Road, is appealing for volunteers.

The shop is looking for enthusiastic people who either have or would like to gain some retail experience in areas such as customer service, stock display, replenishment, housekeeping and cash handling while knowing that they are helping the charity that saves lives at sea.

A spokesperson for the shop said: “The role would suit a friendly and welcoming person who enjoys being part of a team and working with in their community. It’s a great opportunity to make friends while helping to raise funds for this lifesaving charity.”

The RNLI operates a professional 24-hour search and rescue service around the coast of the UK. There are 132 RNLI retail shops which attract almost 1 million visitors every year to raise vital funds. For more information call Ali Thompson on 07795 301893 or Heather Malkin on 07500 608222.
