THE final piece of the Pannett Park “jigsaw” was put into place last Monday.
Near the park’s floral clock, just off Chubb Hill, sits a timeline which details important Whitby events and landmarks since the mid-19th Century,
The timeline was initially installed by Caedmon School and this final piece, designed by Rob Rymer of Hawsker, and park warden Chris Roe said: “It’s an addition that recognises that the park has been restored and it recognises the teamwork and the effort that local people and the council have done together.”
SBC councillor and Friends of Pannett Park chairman Joe Plant added: “It’s to finish off the timeline celebrating the restoration of Pannett Park, it’s the final piece of the jigsaw.
“It’s to mark the end of the project and it’s a fitting tribute to all those involved in making this possible.”
