ICONIC pop veterans Simply Red are set to play a massive outdoor gig in Dalby Forest this summer.
Although the gig has sold out, don't despair – the Whitby Gazette has tickets to win in our fantastic competition. See today's Gazette for full details.

Cash raised will be ploughed back into caring for local woodlands.

This is the ninth year the Music in the Forest tour has called at the 8,600-acre North York Moors beauty spot. Previous acts have included Pulp, Paul Weller and Status Quo.

Organiser Paul Cody said: "Past performers at Dalby read like an who's who of the British rock scene and Simply Red raise the bar once again.

"They are superb live performers who combine the very best elements of pop and northern soul. It will be a terrific mid-summer night's entertainment in the forest."

Fronted by the unmistakable Mick Hucknall, a catalogue of hit singles like Holding Back The Years, Something Got Me Started, If You Don't Know Me By Now, For Your Babies, Fairground and Angel established Simply Red's superstar status across the globe. Classic albums like Picture Book, A New Flame, Stars and Home formed part of the record collection for a whole generation.

Capacity for the gig, which takes place in a tree-lined natural auditorium, has been set at 5,000.

Tickets are £38 subject to booking fee and are on sale now from (01842) 814612 or buy online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
