ONE of the leading lights in classical music is heading to Scarborough to perform in concert with the Scarborough Spa Orchestra this week.
Alfie Boe has emerged as one of the most exciting young tenors that this country has produced for many years. He has been adopted by Classic FM as one of their Artists of the Year.
A critically-acclaimed album for EMI entitled Onward and his most recentrelease, La Passione, make Alfie Boe a favourite with British music lovers.
Alfie joins the Spa Orchestra on Friday as part of the their summer season of music. He is in demand as a concert artiste and to list the orchestras he has sung with would be a roll-call of the world's greatest – shortly to include the Scarborough Spa Orchestra.
Recently, Alfie performed at the Royal Albert Hall with Lesley Garrett and Sir Willard White and graciously accepted the role as Ambassador for HRH's Arts and Kids Foundation which saw him perform at Clarence House for Prince Charles.
Tickets are now on sale for the concert and is one not to be missed. The event starts at 7.45pm.Tickets are £22 adults, £20 concessions, season ticket holders £10. Call the box office on (01723) 357869.
