ONE of the best performing songwriters in the world will be stopping off in Scarborough as part of his European tour.
Texan Eric Taylor will be performing at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough on Sunday.

He began to tour on a steady basis in 1995 and tours the US and Europe extensively, playing concerts in the Netherlands, Ireland, France, Germany and the UK.

After releasing his first album Shameless Love in 1981, he took an extended sabbatical from the music business but his music is still as popular as ever with his third album being named as one of the 100 records of all times, by Texas magazine, Buddy.

Taylor has played at many festivals including Kerrville, Newport Folk Festival, Woody Guthrie Folk Festival and the Take Root Festival in Holland.

His latest album Hollywood Pocketknife is claimed to be the best one he has released and earlier this year he was nominated for Folkwax Artist of the Year and Album of the Year with Hollywood Pocketknife reaching Number Five in the American Radio Chart.

Tickets to see Eric are priced £10 to £14 and are available from the SJT box office on (01723) 370541.
