Brideshead Revisited opens in cinemas today and Castle Howard's curator will be revealing the story's secrets.
Chris Ridgway will introduce the 5.25pm screening of Brideshead Revisited at City Screen, York.
Discover whether Evelyn Waugh had Castle Howard in mind when he wrote Brideshead Revisited, and why the producers of the movie chose to return to Castle Howard to film the story there for a second time.
He will explore the links between the real Castle Howard and the fictional Brideshead Castle, and talk about how Evelyn Waugh’s famous narrative about a doomed family has affected how we view one of England’s favourite stately homes.
