IF you missed out on the classical music of the BBC Proms then do not fret, St Oswald's Church in Lythe is holding something just as special.
Tomorrow, there will be a recital of baroque music for the harpsichord and violin at the church at 7.30pm.
This recital is the premiere performance on a Flemish-style harpsichord from the workshop of Johannes Seeker, based in Blyth.
The performers
will be John Dunford from Harrogate on harpsichord and locally-based Tony Mason on violin.
Mr Dunford is the head of music at Ashville College in Harrogate and also the conductor of both Wetherby and Ripon Choral Societies.
In November he will be singing the baritone solos with the St Hilda's Festival Chorus in their performance of Karl Jenkin's Armed Man and the Faure Requiem.
Mr Mason is a professional golfer at Whitby Golf Club and also the leader of the Scarborough Symphony Orchestra, the St Hilda's Festival Orchestra and the pit orchestra for the Whitby Musical Theatre Company.
The evening will feature sonatas for harpsichord and violin by Bach and Handel, a harpsichord concerto by Bach and two unaccompanied fantasias for violin by Telemann.
There will be a halfway break. for refreshments.
There will be plenty of free parking in the field next to the church.
The entrance fee is £5, concessions are £4 and under-18's get in free.
