AMERICAN rock band Wheatus are playing a local gig – and one lucky Whitby Gazette reader could win a pair of VIP tickets in our great competition.
They can also win goodies including the chance to meet the band when they appear at Vivaz in Huntriss Row on Saturday 25 October.
The prize, from promoters Ginger Dog, offers a chance to meet Wheatus, front of house tickets, a bottle of champagne or Vivaz special Dirtbag cocktail, a goodybag and tickets to the aftershow party.
Lead singer Brendon B Brown formed Wheatus in 1995 and in 1999 they signed a contract with Columbia Records.
Since their record deal the band has had huge success, reaching number two in the charts with the single Teenage Dirtbag in 2000 and the album Wheatus reached number seven in the UK charts.
Teenage Dirtbag is also one of the most downloaded songs on internet based download website, i-tunes.
Lead singer Brendan Brown told the Gazette what fans can expect from the new format of the Unplugged tour.
“The whole and entire back catalogue – each song, but as raw as when it was first written. We are all born naked.
“I have always felt like the fans, especially in the north, are dedicated music people.
“That fills me with a great sense of anticipation and joy.”
Brendan said he will also be looking forward to tucking into some of the region’s best fish and chips and possibly a kebab.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £8, subject to booking fee, are on sale now from the venue, Mojo’s music cafe, and Scarborough Music, or online at www.vivaz.co.uk
