A PLAY packed with suspense will keep audiences on the edge of their seats at Whitby Pavilion.
Whitby Amateur Dramatic Society's Proscenophobia by Bettine Makntelow is a clever whodunnit which takes place in the dressing room of a provincial theatre during a performance of a thriller.
The star, Addie, is attempting a comeback and is understud
ied by her best friend, Millie. Their constant bickering backstage belies a long history of friendship which includes each of them having been married to the same charming impresario, Ed Gibb, for many yerars,
Suspense builds when Addie begins to feel unwell and for the first time, Millie must take her place in the dramatic and violent last act of the play.
In a startling twist the violence becomes real but what happens next?
The play is directed by WADS' Alison Steele and the cast is made up of Alison herself, Karen McCarthy, Joan Shorrock, Lizzie Dobson, Ian Dobson and Chris Wales.
Proscenophobia is being presented in conjunction with Scarborough Council at Whitby Pavilion on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Tuesday 12 August to Thursday 11 September at 8pm.
Ticket prices are adults £6, concessions £5 and children £4. To book call the box office on (01947) 604855.
