Part of the war exhibition currently showing at Pannett Park has had to be replaced after concerns were raised about the credibility of one of the photographs on display.

The Rohilla story is one of six featured in the exhibition which honours the bravery of RNLI volunteers during the war and part of that was the story of nurse Mary Roberts but it is believed the image used, taken from a group picture, might not be the real Mary Roberts. After visiting the exhibition, a relative of Mary stepped forward with a new image which is being put in place. Jacqui Palmer, exhibition’s coordinator said: “With this photograph we now know for sure the true identity of Mary Roberts.”
