One man and his dog have crossed the country on a bright pink tractor in order to raise awareness of a cancer charity.
On Sunday, restaurateur Mark Whickham drove his vintage 1952 Ferguson tractor from Littleborough to the Black Horse Inn on Church Street – a distance of 110 miles.
“It takes a real man to drive a pink tractor,” said Mr Whickham, who despite heavy rain, wore just a Superman costume and was accompanied by his dog, George.
The drive was intended to raise awareness of breast cancer care and was followed by an evening of fund-raising at the Black Horse. Mr Whickham added: “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and made it all worthwhile.”
