RAIL enthusiasts can catch a glimpse of history as a famous locomotive makes it's final few journeys on the North York Moors Railway.
The Green Arrow, known as a V2 Class, is the last surviving locomotive of its type.

It arrived at the North York Moors Railway at the weekend and will be running until 27 April, as part of the forthcoming LNER Festival. Those will be its final runs before it retires to the National Rail Museum for static display.

Green Arrow, designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and built in 1936, will be one of the mane attractions at the LNER Festival, which will see two Gala Weekends between 28 and 30 March and 4 and 6 April.

You can see video footage of the Green Arrow shot by Robert Townsend on the North York Moors Railway here.
