Final days of the Green Arrow
THE Green Arrow was back on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at the weekend as it begins its final month in service.
The National Rail Museum's LNER V2 locomotive's boiler certification expires at the end of April, meaning it cannot work again until a full overhaul has been carried out.
The locomotive, picture in the attached video leaving Grosmont Station, will be operating the 9.30am and 12.30pm departures from Grosmont to Pickering and the 11am and 2pm services from Pickering to Grosmont on 3 April and the 7, 11, 14, 18, 21 and 25 April.
Normal fares apply, except if travelling in the Ryedale or Great Northern saloon, where a supplement of £3 adults and £2 children will be payable to the ticket inspector on-board.
The locomotive's final day in steam will be 27 April, when it will work the following services: 9.30am and 1.30pm services from Grosmont to Pickering, returning on 11am and 3pm services from Pickering.
Additionally, its last train will be the 5.30pm Grosmont to Goathland and 6.45pm Goathland to Grosmont service.
