THE bygone age of Pirate radio stations was relived in Whitby harbour today as Absolute Radio broadcast from its national breakfast show from the town.
Host Christian O'Connell and his team were on board the Chieftain to celebrate the launch of new movie The Boat That Rocked.

Christian was joined by the great and the good of Whitby, including ghostwalker Harry Collett and Gazette editor Damian Holmes.

A member of the breakfast show crew was thrown in the harbour to allow the Whitby lifeboat crew to demonstrate how they go about a rescue.

The fun and games lasted until 10am before the team set off for Grimsby on their tour of ports before arriving back in London on Friday.

Full story and more pictures to come later.
