Whitby Town boss desperate to ease injury crisis
WHITBY boss Harry Dunn will be spending all his spare time on the phone as he desperately tries to find some fit bodies to ease the club's growing injury crisis.
Striker Andy Campbell, skipper Tony Hackworth and midfielder Ged Dalton are all likely to miss tomorrow's clash at home to bogey side Ashton.
Campbell lasted just five minutes of Wednesday night's loss to old Wembley rivals North Ferriby, with Dunn admitting they had taken a chance on the former Middlesbrough marksman.
"Andy had trained and felt fine during the warm-up but then the first time in the match he broke into a long run, his calf went," the Blues boss said yesterday morning.
"Injuries are piling up at the moment and that isn't going to be helped by the fact we will be playing two and three games a week up to the end of the season.
"I will be getting on the phone trying to get a few bodies in but everyone else is in the same boat as us with the fixture backlog so it will be hard."
Despite the loss to North Ferriby, Dunn said he couldn't fault his players for effort.
"They gave everything on Wednesday and that is all I can ask of them.
"Ferriby took their chances and that was the difference," he said.
He added he hopes to have defender Ashley Lyth back for tomorrow and striker Liam Gildea could be forced into action after more than a month out through injury.
