Triples highlight for Sleights bowlers
THE highlight of a recent Sleights Bowling Club weekend was the Club Triples competition, played in beautiful sunny weather and starting with a barbecue.
Thirteen teams took part, all having been picked by random.
Those reaching the semi-finals were Keith Thompson, Roly Clark and Peter Franks who beat Eddie White, Eileen Clark and Beryl Raw.
The other match was, John Pybus, John Moore and Denis Welford, who beat Brian Raw, David Marshall and Irene Pearson.
The final between Keith's team and John's team was first class, with excellent play by everyone, and appreciated by the spectators. In the end, the winners were the team of John Pybus, John Moore and Denis Welford.
