Three schools through to area football finals

WEST Cliff, Ruswarp and East Whitby Schools qualified to represent Whitby at the Ryedale and Whitby Partnership Final at Malton School in this very competitive tournament.

None of the matches were too one-sided and all the competitors had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Young Leaders from Caedmon and Whitby Community College did a fantastic job of refereeing and officiating throughout the afternoon.

School sports co-oordinator Pete Woolley said: "A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

"The girls demonstrated some good skills and there was a feisty competitive edge throughout the afternoon.

"It was great to see West Cliff retaining their title from last year, though Ruswarp pushed them right to the end.

"It would be great to see one of the Whitby Schools representing the Partnership at the North Yorkshire Youth Games in July."
