Staithes cup run comes to end at Edgehill

STAITHES Athletic's run in the North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup came to an end at Edgehill.

Staithes started brightly enough with Mike Young and Neil Calvert both having good chances in the opening 10 minutes.

A defensive error, however, led to Lee Cappelman scoring from the edge of the area on 20 minutes.

Ten minutes into the second half, Gareth Sygrove latched on to a ball from Danny White before scoring from 20 yards out.

Fifteen minutes from time Edgehill sealed the win from close range following a corner from Cappelman.
