Trout fishery to hold bank championships heat

LOCKWOOD Beck trout fishery opens for the new season on 3 March at 8am.

Lockwood will be stocked with up to 1,000 rainbow trout from 1lb 8oz to double figures just days before opening.

The beck is a Trout Masters Water and will be holding a heat for the 2012 TEFF Greys National Bank Championships, with the individual and team heat will be held on the Saturday 14 April.

We will also be hosting one of the ADB Talent Pathway Events which will take place on Saturday 31 March and the EYFA will be running a youth experience day at Lockwood on 1 September details are as yet to be finalised.

There is no price rise for 2012, while bag limits have been increased.

A day permit costs £28 with a 6 fish limit and catch and release; evening permit £20 4 fish limit, catch and release; any four consecutive hours £14 2 fish limit, catch and release; juniors under 17 £10 4 fish limit, catch and release.

Eight rowing boats are available for hire. Life jackets are provided and must be worn at all times by boat anglers.

A full day’s angling costs £13 from 8.30am until one hour after sun set or time posted in fishing lodge; evening or any four hours £7.
