Kai Morris and Will Donald were the star performers in Whitby 1sts' crucial win against NYSD League Division One relegation rivals

Morris top-scored with 63 as the away side posted 225-6, then Will Donald scooped 5-20 and Morris took two wickets as Redcar's reply stalled on 141 all out.

Whitby 2nds slipped to a five-wicket loss at home to Marton 2nds in Division Three.

The hosts batted first and struggled to 48-5, until fine batting from Ben Braim (58), Ian Suckling (25), Harry Purves (47) and Alfie Swales (20no) steered the Turnbull Ground side to 201-8 from 50 overs.

Marton also struggled early on as they slipped to 58-3, but good batting from opener Scott Kirby (41), Tom Hustwitt (59no), Dominic Knight (27) and Salim Khan (57 from 31 balls) took the visitors to victory in only 34.3 overs, Steve Crowther bagging three wickets for Whitby.
