Fylingdales Cricket Club held its annual awards evening at the Victoria Hotel, Robin Hood’s Bay.

The principal guest was Martyn Moxon, Director of Cricket at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, who was accompanied by his wife Sue.

Martyn spoke openly of his role at Headingley and gave the audience a clear insight into the current activities of the historic club.

This followed with a lengthy question and answer session where he expounded both his past and present experiences, one of which was his encounters as an opener with Geoffrey Boycott.

Philip Dunn, secretary of Fylingdales CC, said: “It was an excellent evening and the fifth successive year we have had a former Test cricketer at our annual event, which would not be possible without the support of our many sponsors which include White Rose Taxis, Dunsley Hall and The Victoria Hotel.”
