GOLFERS from Whitby are invited to join in The Royal British Legion is holding a national youth golf tournament.
The national knockout tournament will be played under revised matchplay rules, with teams of four playing in pairs.
Each pair will play their opponents over the full 18 holes with the side winning most holes overall winners.
Keen matchplay golfers will recognise that these rules differ from normal matchplay, where one pair might win 3 & 2, for example.
The tournament will be organised on a regional basis in the early rounds to minimise travel for competitors with The Royal British Legion hosting the semi-finals and final, which will be held in a location yet to be decided.
The closing date for entries is Sunday 3 April and the event is open to all registered junior golf club members, with a maximum age of 18 (on 31 March 2011).
Maximum handicap is 36 for girls and 28 for boys. Three-quarters handicap difference will be allowed.
