Third place for ladies in league

Whitby Hockey Club ladies finished a respectable third in the Durham Clubs League Division Two.

This was their first time in a new league and played strong hockey

throughout the season. The winners were Richmond Roses with 40 pts, 2

Stokesley 39 pts and 3 Whitby 38 pts. Whitby have beaten first and second place teams but an unfortunate loss early in the season and a

conceded game robbed them of promotion with the top two going up.

Whitby will go into next season hoping to high hopes of working their way into the first division.

Thanks to club officials Karen Sanderson, Nicola Kent, Jo Braithwaite and Lee Pettit for all their hard work in coaching and administrative duties.
