Whitby’s autumn angling festival got under way at the weekend with competitors vying for the £1,000 top prize.

Whitby man Chris Mangas currently leads the way with a 27lb ling caught on Wednesday from Sea Urchin II.

Hull’s Ian Batchelor had briefly led the way after landing Tuesday’s top catch until Chris took over.
