THE track crew at Whitby’s Skelder motocross circuit is hard at work preparing for the second round of the 2011 Whitby Motocross Club Championship on Sunday.
Secretary Paul Manton said: “The track is given the same attention for the club events as for the higher profile two-day national meetings - graded, dragged or rotovated and watered if necessary.
“The club members compete on the same ‘pro’ standard track as the top class riders do.”
The action will start at approximately 10am with the practice sessions to familiarise the competitors with the features of the track and the first race will follow straight afterwards.
The large entry list will be split into the usual five classes, each of which will contest three races to decide the overall result. There will also be the popular allcomers’ final as the last race of the day, “a real test of stamina after a hard day of racing,” said Mr Manton.
