Whitby’s Cara Shardlow impressed at the Myerscough Premier League, despite a long spell of absence prior to the competition.
“Following on from our success at the regionals, gaining our national qualification, we went to Myerscough Premier League last week,” said Shardlow.
“We were a little rusty after not competing at this level since last October, but even with some costly unusual mistakes we held our own against some of the country’s top combinations, gaining a sixth in the PSG and a 10th in the Inter 1.
“Just before I set off for that show I had a call to say we had got our selection for the Keysoe CDI** next week in Bedfordshire.
“This will be our third GB call up in the last nine months at small tour level and I still have to pinch myself that it’s really happening.
“After time off at the end of last year he is building his fitness back up so should be on on good form next week.
“Thanks to my sponsors Horslyx, Saracens Horse Feeds, Specialist Marine consultants and Millbryhill.”
