ESKDALE School’s young ambassadors Robbie Hurworth and Catherine Laffan spent a day visiting local primary schools delivering assemblies on the Olympic values.
Selected by staff, their role as young ambassadors is to lead by example promoting the Olympic values in both their own school and also within their family of feeder primary schools.
Robbie and Catherine spent a day on the road accompanied by Eskdale teacher and school sport co-ordinator Caroline Watson, delivering assemblies to children at Stakesby, West Cliff, St Hedda’s, Egton, Danby and Castleton schools.
They presented certificates to the chosen young ambassadors in each of the primary schools and can be seen in the photos ‘passing on the torch’.
The primary school ambassadors are now set with the task of setting up an Olympic values display within their school and helping staff to promote the values as the 2012 build-up commences.
