CAEDMON and Eskdale School pupils have been taking part in cycling sessions with British cycling instructor Andrew Samanjoul.

Andrew has been working with the students for the past six weeks in their PE lessons.

The students have been developing their skills in balance, gear changes, speed and hill work and other general riding skills.

The sessions culminated in a competition held at Caedmon School on 24 May involving both Eskdale and Caedmon students.

From Eskdale, first place went to Frazer Clacherty, second to Chester Adamski and in joint third place were Elliot Metcalfe, Robbie Dowson and Adam Lewis.

From Caedmon, first place was Jamie Harrison, second Louise Harrison and third Daisy Drake.

School sports co-ordinator Caroline Watson said: “Many thanks to Andrew.”
