Whitby darts ace Richie Parkin is heading north for the Scottish Open this weekend full of confidence.
Parkin takes on Brian Gilmartin in the first round of the event at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew, and he’s confident of progressing in the tournament.
He said: “Practice is going pretty well so I just hope it goes well in the matches once I get up there.
“I’ve got a decent draw so all being well I’ll be looking to earn some ranking points.
“I have only heard of one of the players in my group, Dutch international Willem Mandigers, but I can’t face him until the last 256, so I am hopeful of doing well.”
