Whitby RUFC’s 1st XV are looking to make it two Durham and Northumberland Division Two wins in succession when they host Blyth on Saturday.
Darryl Grason’s side beat Wallsend last time out, and the Maroons coach is hoping for more of the same this weekend.
“The spine of the team remains the same after the lads did a great job in our last game at Wallsend but tomorrow will be tougher,” Grason said.
“Blyth boast a massive pack and I expect them to provide a stern physical test.
“If we can be at our best defensively, while maintaining our threat through our running game then we have the chance to produce a shock.”
The Maroons are currently 10th in the league standings, having won two and lost six games so far, while Blyth are fifth after winning six and losing two, just three points behind leaders Winlaton.
Whitby make threechanges to their side for the Northumberland side’s visit.
Experienced prop James Gildroy comes in for the unavailable Phil Coverdale, Nathan Kaz replaces Adam Wilson, and Janni Jacobs returns on the wing.
Kick-off at the Showfield is 2.15pm.
