This Saturday (Jan 18) sees Whitby Maroons’ rugby team entertain Prudhoe at the Showfield in the battle of the basement.
Both sides have managed only one win this season and with the Maroons on the up in their last two games, it will be a chance to grab some much-needed points.
James Gildroy (work) and Nick Beaumont (exams) are out of the pack which competed so well in last week’s match at Barnard Castle.
The other 13 starting players retain their places and the bench is strengthened by the return of Gordon Bland and Sam Webster.
Whitby lost the away match at Prudhoe when a raft of cry- offs plus a naive performance cost them the points.
Prudhoe had a good draw last week against Ashington so their form is on the up too.
Whitby did receive a boost last week when third bottom Hartlepool were unexpectedly docked five points and the gap is now down to seven points.
It is hoped a large home crowd will see a top class performance and a home win.
