Key Step 2 / Year 3/4 gym festival

Fun was had by all at this years Whitby Primary School Key Step 2 Gymnastics competition.

The small school competition was won this year by pupils from Egton C of E School who beat off stiff competition from Goathland, St Hildas and last year’s small school winners Fylingdales.

The large school trophy was taken by Sleights School, who fought hard to beat off Airy Hill, Ruswarp, West Cliff, Stakesby and East Whitby.

The event was hosted by Caedmon School this year.

Year 7, 8 and 9 students from the Caedmon School gym club developed their own leadership skills by coaching and judging the youngsters who completed a range of gymnastic disciplines.

All of the gymnasts performed on both floor and vault apparatus and demonstrated a range of body management skills.

Organiser Caroline Watson from the School Sports Partnership would like to say well done to all of the children who took part both as competitors and as leaders and also thank everyone who has helped to make both afternoons a great success.
