Last Sunday the junior section travelled to Acklam and Scarborough respectively.

The under 7s and 8s took part in a mammoth day of rugby.

The teams both played against a variety of east coast teams including Hull Ionians, Beverley, Hornsea, Scarborough, Bridlington and Malton.

Whitby under 7s are seeing an influx of new players who did well considering they picked up a rugby ball last week. The under 7s were made of Jack Stentiford, Finlay Stainthorpe, Zach Stainthorpe, Lucas Coverdale and Max Thompson. Also major thanks to Mackenzie Storr and William Prust who helped the Bridlington side all day so everyone got a lot of rugby.

The festival was non-competitive it is all about the players playing with smiles and without pressure, along with great parent encouragement.

The under 8s played a similar set up to the 7s - Charlie Coomber, Alex Fusco, Alex Marr, Dylan Locker, Gregory Walsh and newbie Thomas Barnes who showed excellent team work and handling throughout the day.

Each player received a medal for playing and they all had a great day out.

U9s played two games at Acklam on Sunday. With one player short, Acklam loaned Whitby a player to even the teams. The first game saw a win for Whitby with tries being scored by Henry Cornforth, Joe Burghope and Acklam loan. There was some excellent play from all Whitby players and tackling was key to the game as Acklam fielded some fast and big lads.

The second game went to Acklam, due to Whitby injury. Tries were scored by Joe Burghope, Henry Cornforth and Cody Bendall. Zak Lloyd was determined to get a try and succeeded.

Tom Smith and Harry Pemberton contribute making the games a team effort.

So this Sunday, we are all training starting at under six to 13, 10.30am-11.30am, please bring a £1 for club funds. For more information please contact Pete 07833 431982.
